Tokyo Party Report by Samantha Mariko – March 2019

March was a flurry of events, with Tokyo Fashion Week right in the middle of it all. I didn’t blog about it this time since I wasn’t so active this season, but there were plenty of other events to blog about. Lots of product & collection launches, anniversaries and store renewals will be featured in this Tokyo party report. I hope you enjoy!

３月もイベントで盛り沢山！間に東京ファッションウィークも挟まれていたので、より華やかな１ヶ月となりました。今季のファションウィークはあまり参加できなかったので、それ以外の商品やコレクションローンチ、記念やストアリニューアルのイベントについてレポートをまとめました。

GAIAX 20th Anniversary party @ Nagatacho GRiD

GAIAX is a Japanese company that deals with social media and apps. My friend Natalia who works for GAIAX, asked me to DJ for their 20th anniversary event at GRiD, a modern creative space located in Nagatacho. The event took place between 3 floors, and I DJed for about 6 hours on the basement floor. I was very impressed by the events space as well as the turnout for the event. It’s not often I get to DJ at corporate events, so I’m glad Natalia contacted me for the job. Congratulations on the 20th anniversary!

株式会社ガイアックスは、ソーシャルメディア、ソーシャルアプリに関する事業を行っている企業です。私の友人のナタリアさんが勤めていて、今回は２０周年記念のイベントでのDJを依頼されました。永田町GRiDで開催されたイベントは、３フロアを渡ってケータリングや撮影スペースなどで賑わっていました。私はB１フロアで６時間ほどDJをさせていただきました。GRiDに似合うようなおしゃれでクリエイティブなイベントだったと思います。お仕事の依頼をしてくれたナタリアさんにも感謝！２０周年おめでとうございます！

YSL BEAUTY VOLUPTE LAND Pop-up Store Opening Reception Party @ Omotesando Hills

YSL Beauty released a new version of their iconic lipstick “Rouge Volupte Shine,” and they had a reception party in Omotesando Hills for the occasion. A big chunk of the mall was dedicated to the event, donned in pink to recreate a mini amusement park. Guests were first led to the YSL store to enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres, as well as DJ performances. The amusement park in the middle of the mall was dedicated for photo opportunities, especially the cute mini merry-go-round. The event decorations were full of hearts since the lipsticks have little hearts in the middle that allow for a plump finish. I think these sheer lipsticks with a hint of color are easy to use, and can be used as a skincare item as well given that they are made with 6 different types of oils and keep the lips moisturized.

YSLの伝説のアイコンリップ “ルージュ ヴォリュプテ シャイン”からプランプタイプが新たな発売を記念して、レセプションパーティーが開催されました。ピンクでプレイフルなYSLのアミューズメントパークが表参道大階段に登場し、YSL GIRL達が大好きな “カワイイ” がたっぷり詰まったフォトジェニックなYSL BEAUTEランドの世界観を存分に体験することができました。リップは可愛いだけではなく、エッジの効いたコアの “ブラックハート”には唇をぷっくりボリューミーに魅せるプランプ効果をプラス。
鮮やかな発色と濡れたようなたっぷりのツヤ。マカデミアナッツオイルなど６種類のオイルが、潤いを与え乾燥から唇を守ります。ヒルズ内に設置されたメリーゴーランドがとても可愛くて、遊園地にいるような気分でした！

International Women’s Day with Dior

This year, Dior hosted an event for International Women’s Day at their stores in Omotesando and Ginza. I went to the Omotesando location with some of my friends for drinks and hors d’oeuvres. Guests were also able to view and shop the latest collection, which was beautiful! I think it’s great that Dior hosts such a fantastic event to celebrate women and all their achievements. Thank you for having us, Dior!

今年も、国際女性デーにクリスチャンディオールのショップにて、招待制のパーティが開催されました。みなさんに女性であることをセレブレートして楽しむイベントとなりました。ディオール表参道店と銀座店で同時開催され、私は友達と表参道店にお邪魔してきました。DJによる演出、ドリンク、フィンガーフードなどのサービスがあり、新作コレクションを拝見できてショッピング可能でした。大好きな友達とウィメンズデーを祝うことができて嬉しかったです！ありがとうございました！

GUCCI Kyoto Takashimaya Reception Party & Afterparty

Gucci had a special event at the Kyoto Takashimaya store in celebration of the Zumi bag collection. And of course, the beautiful lady herself graced our presence as the special guest of the night. I think what made this party really special was the poetry reading by Alaska Lynch, followed by translations by Mari Natsuki. The afterparty was held at Club Metro, where Taiki & Noah, AMIAYA, Zumi and Mademoiselle Yulia all DJed throughout the night. And I couldn’t believe it when I saw Bryanboy and Tina Leung! Thank you so much for the amazing memories, Gucci!

京都高島屋にて、Gucciのスペシャルイベントが開催され、私も光栄ながら出席させていただきました。モデルとアーティストのZumiをインスパイヤしたバッグのコレクションが展開され、彼女もスペシャルゲストとして迎えられました。他のパーティーとは違って、アラスカ・リンチによるポエトリーリーディングが行われ、夏木マリさんが和訳を担当しました。ゲストの皆がしっかり聞き入るぐらいの、パワフルな詩たち、そして素敵なリーディングでした。店舗のイベントの後はクラブメトロでのアフターパーティー！Taiki & Noah、AMIAYA、Zumi と Mademoiselle YuliaさんによるDJプレイで会場が盛り上がりました！そしてなんと、あの有名なBryanboyとTina Leungに会えて感激しました！貴重な経験をさせていただいて本当に嬉しいです！Gucci、ありがとうございました！

BOBBI BROWN Intensive Skin Serum Foundation 4th Anniversary party @ PLUS Tokyo

BOBBI BROWN celebrated the 4-year anniversary of her Intensive Skin Serum Foundation at PLUS Tokyo. I had actually never tried BOBBI BROWN products, so I was excited to attend the party and try this foundation! They went all out with the decorations and desserts, reenacting a laboratory with pink neon lights. My friend Laura and I were able to color match to get the right shade of foundation. Congratulations on 4 years!

BOBBI BROWNで人気のインテンシブスキンセラムファンデーションが発売から４周年を迎え、それを記念しレセプションパーティーが開催されました。実は今までBOBBI BROWNの商品を使ったことがなかったので、このファンデーションをトライできることが楽しみでした。友達のラウラちゃんとファンデーションのカラーマッチングをして、肌の色と合う色のファンデーションをいただきました。PLUS Tokyoで開催されたパーティーは、ネオンピンクが多めの可愛らしい会場になっていました。４周年おめでとうございます！

MONT BLANC Ginza Writing Collage 2019 with Letterboy

MONT BLANC hosted a special event titled “Collage Night 2019” at their Ginza location. The 2nd floor has a special section called the “Ink bar,” and they invited Letterboy to do one-of-a-kind letterings for each of the 10 guests (yes, a very exclusive event!). He used MONT BLANC fountain pens for the job, and the great thing is, there are so many different color options. I also noticed that they have 3 kinds of scented ink, which would make great gifts when you don’t know what to get for your male friend or colleague. Thank you so much MONT BLANC for having me and to Letterboy for the personalized notebook!

モンブラン銀座店の２Fの「Ink bar」にて、「Collage Night 2019」というスペシャルイベントが開催されました。１０人のゲストのみというとてもイクスクルーシブなイベントで、Letterboyさんに名前をオリジナルでレタリングしたカードとノートをプレゼントしていただきました。モンブランの万年筆でのレタリングしてもらったんですけど、万年筆とは思えないくらい色の種類が豊富で、しかも書きやすい！あと、香りがついたインクボトルもありました！これは本当に感動しました。男性友達にぴったりのギフトになりそう。そして、Letterboyさんはとてもいい人で、写真も撮っていただきました。素敵なレタリング、ありがとうございました！

APM Monaco April Collection Launch Party @ Ginza

APM Monaco held a cozy reception party at the Ginza store to celebrate the launch of their April jewelry collection. This collection is special because they collaborated with fashionista Chiara Ferragni, as you can see in the photos. This was my first time visiting the store, and I loved it! The jewelry is affordable with so many different styles. Thank you for having me!

APM Monaco銀座のフラッグシップストアにて、4月のコレクションローンチを記念したストアイベントが開催されました。毎月様々なテーマを体現したコレクションを製作していて、4月のコレクションは世界的なファッショニスタとして知られるキアラ・フェラーニとコラボレーションしたものです。当日はブランドオリジナルのポップコーンやUFOキャッチャーなど面白いコンテンツも用意されていました。APM Monacoのジュエリーはお買い得だし、様々なスタイルがあるので好きです！

MCM GINZA HAUS 1 Renewal Opening Party

MCM held a opening renewal party at their Ginza Haus 1, located on the main street of Ginza. A couple of years ago, I only knew MCM for their brown backpacks and bags, but now I realize they offer so much more than that! I was granted permission to check out their VIP showroom space on the 3rd floor, and the bags were just too cute to resist! They also had a new neon collection which I absolutely adore. Congratulations on the opening renewal!

MCM Ginza Haus 1のオープニングリニューアルを記念し、レセプションパーティーが開催されました。銀座にはMCMのお店が２店舗あるんですけど、こちらは銀座の大通りにある方です。昔は、MCMだと茶色のリュックとバッグしか思い浮かばなかったけど、ここ最近パーティーに呼ばれてからそれ以上に豊富なラインアップがあることに気づきました。今回展示されていたネオンのコレクションが一番ツボでした！パーティーではDJ Reiji Okamotoさんが会場を盛り上げていて、たくさんの知り合いにばったり！オープニングリニューアル、おめでとうございます！

LOEWE x DUMBO Collection Launch Party @ Omotesando

Jonathan Anderson, the creative director of LOEWE, produced a capsule collection inspired by the Disney movie Dumbo. This exclusive collection is only retailed at 10 LOEWE stores worldwide, and only in Omotesando in Japan. I was fortunate enough to attend the reception party at said Omotesando store, and the collection was so adorable and had a hint of nostalgia in the designs. I think Anderson did a great job combining an animation with the clean brand image of LOEWE for a playful yet chic collection. And it so happens that the movie is out in theaters!

ジョナサン・アンダーソンがクリエイティブ・ディレクターを務めるLOEWEより、
ディズニーキャラクター「ダンボ」にインスパイアされた限定カプセルコレクションが世界10店舗 (日本ではLOEWE表参道店のみ) にて発売される運びとなりました。そこで、LOEWE x DUMBO 限定版カプセルコレクションのローンチ＆ショッピングパーティーが開催されました。この限定アイテムのベースとなっているのは、愛くるしいディズニーキャラクターを見た時に感じるポジティブなノスタルジーです。
LOEWEならではの遊び心のある機能性と高度なクラフトマンシップをより洗練させて展開しています。そして、ちょうどティム・バートン監督の「ダンボ」実写版映画も公開されるので、タイミングがぴったりすぎる！
