When summer rolls around (which was actually pretty late this year in Japan), my skincare routine changes and it’s all about the oils for me. Whether you’re going to the beach or just wearing a tank top with shorts, be ready to show off that healthy, summer glow. In this post, I’ll be introducing my 5 favorite body & hair oils for summer and beyond.

My 5 Favorite Body & Hair Oils for Summer

  1. Johnson’s shea & cocoa butter oil gel (body):ย I swear by this baby oil gel. Since this can be used on a baby’s skin, I think it’s safe to say it can be used on different types on skin. I’ll apply a generous amount on my body right after a shower so my skin absorbs it better than when it’s completely dry. I get so many compliments on my arms and legs. The only downside is yes, it can feel slick and oily (what do you expect?) so depending on what you’re ok with, I suggest adjusting the amount you apply on your body.
  2. Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil (face):ย I think I learned about this brand/product on a skincare article, so I bought one to test it out. This is great to use on my face when I don’t want to use too many products – it acts as my serum and moisturizer in one. Even though it’s a facial oil, I don’t feel my face getting oily after use despite my combination skin. Some people may have issues with the smell (it doesn’t exactly smell fabulous) and it’s a bit orange, but it does a great job regenerating and restoring the balance of your skin. This is also great for Eczema-prone skin.
  3. ย Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse multi-purpose dry oil (face, body & hair):ย Let me tell you, this oil smells AMAZING. I sometimes use this in the place of perfume for my body, or as a hair oil when I don’t feel like using a pomade for my short hair. This multi-purpose oil is made with 7 precious botanical oils:ย highly nourishing and anti-aging Tsubaki oil, softening sweet almond oil, moisturizing Camellia oil, anti-wrinkle borage oil, soothing hazelnut oil, nourishing macadamia oil and repairing argan oil. It’s also free from preservatives, silicone and mineral oils. I love to bring this with me when I travel since it’s so convenient.
  4. Yves Rocher Monoi de Tahiti Dry Body Oil (body):ย I picked this up when I visited a Yves Rocher store in Paris. I had never used a dry body oil before, but I realized it’s actually really great to have around when you need some glow on your body. This oil has a warm scent which I love that is reminiscent of a tropical destination. The great thing about dry oils is that they don’t feel sticky or slick like regular body oils.
  5. OGX Coconut Miracle Oil (hair): Even though this is not a skincare oil,ย I absolutely love the smell of coconut oil and what it does to my hair so I’m going to throw this in the list as #5. The great thing about the OGX Coconut Miracle Oil is that it’s so much easier to apply than real coconut oil (yes, I did that before) and it leaves my bleached hair detangled, smooth and smelling amazing. Did I mention that it’s really affordable?

I never tried any of those but I would choose the coconut one because of the natural touch ๐Ÿ™‚

Oil has been so “in” nowadays but I don’t really use it because it just sounds so… heavy for the skin and greasy, and my face generally has oily skin. The Johnson’s Baby Oil Gel sounds appealing though and looks like the less “oily” in the group so I probably try it ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh my gosh, I use so many oils as well. Mostly though for my hair and face. I always forget body oils or even moisturizer for that matter! These sound good too! xx Jenelle | inspiringwit.com
