Last week, I went on a blogger media tour in Bangkok, Thailand in celebration of the 130th year between the diplomatic relations between Thailand and Japan. The Landmark Hotel & Spa welcomed the entire team from different parts of Japan with warm smiles and impeccable hospitality, and my stay in Thailand couldn’t have been better. During the busy 4 days touring the city and surrounding areas, I was able to fully relax in the evenings at this luxury hotel.

The Lobby

I was immediately impressed with the Landmark as I first walked into the lobby the first night of my stay. The spacious lobby and reception desk, the gorgeous flower arrangement, and of course the beautiful gold display and portrait in memory of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej were just a few of the eye-catching presentations in the room. I felt very at home thanks to the attentive staff who were smiling the entire time, bowing with their hands together as is the custom and welcoming each and every one of us with “Yin dee dtôn ráp,” or “Welcome” in Thai.

My Room

The Landmark Hotel is a luxury hotel in the pure sense of the word. Everything was clean and crisp, the king-sized bed fluffy and welcoming, the bathroom shiny and polished with the pretty marble walls, and the amazing view of the city beneath from the 23rd floor. They even had an adorable dessert plate display on my desk in celebration of the 130th anniversary. Room service came in to clean my room twice a day and also refilling my room with complimentary water (this is very important because I drink water consistently). I think the coolest part was the touch screen remote for the air conditioning – never saw that before in my life!

The Atrium Breakfast Buffet

Every morning during my stay at the Landmark, I breakfasted at the Atrium breakfast buffet, which served Western, Thai and Japanese breakfast food. I was happy to see there were many healthy options such as a salad bar, a variety of fruit and also gluten-free bread. The dining area was very spacious and I was able to enjoy a luxurious breakfast every morning.

Rib Room & Bar Steakhouse Restaurant

The Rib Room & Bar Steakhouse is a fine dining restaurant and bar in the hotel, and although I didn’t dine here during my stay, we were able to snap some photos during the hotel tour. I definitely wouldn’t mind a fancy dinner here while admiring the beautiful night view of Bangkok!

Outdoor Pool & Jacuzzi

I’d have to say this was my favorite part of the hotel. Living in Tokyo, it’s so difficult to have access to a pool like this, so when the hotel tour introduced us to this beautiful outdoor pool and jacuzzi, I knew I had to take advantage of them. Since we had free time the last day of our stay in Bangkok, I went straight to the pool in the morning and had it all to myself. The weather was perfect and the water temperature was even more perfect, and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend the early hours of my morning.

Viva Jiva Spa

Although I didn’t have a Thai massage in the hotel spa, it does look amazing in the photos, right? I was blown away at how beautiful the rooms were in the Viva Jiva Spa, especially the rose-petal bath. There was also a room for a couple’s massage not shown here but I can only imagine how perfect it would be for a honeymoon trip. More info on the Landmark Hotel website here.

Premium / Suite Rooms

So there were nicer rooms than the one I stayed in, and they were the premium rooms and suite rooms. You can take a look at the types of rooms they have at the Landmark here, and I was in awe at all the rooms I saw during the hotel tour. There were different rooms that were suited for couples and families. It would be a dream to stay in one of these rooms one day!

I would like to give a huge thank you to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Thai Airways (TG) and the Landmark Hotel & Spa Bangkok for their services and hospitality and for making my stay in Bangkok a special one.

Even in this post about a beautiful hotel in Thailand, a fact about Tokyo was the first thing that caught my eye, haha. So there aren’t really that many good pools in Tokyo? Oh well, I guess I can survive without them. As for the hotel it seems like the ultimate luxury experience and as Bangkok is really diverse, so are the hotels. Some so called 5 star hotels would equal what we consider 2 stars, but this one truly lived up to all the 5 they’ve earned. Ashamedly I must admit I’ve never been to Bangkok, but would love to and this hotel is definitely on my list!

The breakfast buffet looks so yummy and I love that there are also gluten-free options (which is hard to find in Asia). The outdoor pool does sound nice and relaxing and I am glad you had a chance to lounge there on your short trip. I definitely want to go visit Thailand one day with my family and some of the larger rooms you featured look perfect for us. I hope you had an incredible time there. xoxo, Christine

This hotel looks like an amazing place to stay!! I love the interior and how they were able to greet you with sweets and cute treats. I think I’d also fall in love with the pool and jacuzzi. The pictures certainly didn’t do it justice! Also, it’s a shame you didn’t get to get a Thai massage at Viva Jiva. I’m sure it would have been amazing! Maybe next time!
